For many of you, there is probably a need to explain what the word ILYAXOUS (ILL-E-AX-OS) actually means. I am sorry to disappoint, but there is not a definition in the dictionary because I made it up. It is not Greek nor of any other language from what I have been able to research.
Several years ago, I needed to title a film production company for a short movie I was making. I knew I wanted a word with strong consonants and a strong sound, something like Kodak, Xerox or Kinko’s. Another goal was to have a name with a vaguely erudite ring to it, something perhaps from mythology. Finding a suitable character with a minimum of incest, fratricide or blood pollution proved harder than first imagined. Finally, I wanted something that was not already taken. Thusly, the word ilyaxous was born.

Some mildly interesting history:

Mostly hand coded using text editors and some Adobe GoLive 1.0. Aside from a few random pages strewn over back-up drives, and the stack of zip-disks in my parent’s attic, the site as a whole is lost to the sands of time. Built primarily with Adobe Golive and Flash or as it was known then: Macromedia Director. Lots of HTML hand coding thrown in for good measure and some snippets from things like “gallerie” and a page creator in Adobe bridge/ photoshop 7 Built using Apple iWeb v.1-3.0.4 with the occasional snippet from Google or Adobe Lightroom v.3 Built using WordPress 3.2 and Dreamweaver CS5.5 (so far)
